A group of residents living in sheltered accommodation in Burtonwood Weobley raised £1010.70 for their local surgery funds through several coffee mornings, a garden fete and taking part in a local car boot sale.

Lucy Hurds (Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for North Herefordshire) said " This was an impressive display of community spirit. Bob, Gary, Pat, Masie, Jenny and their friends and neighbours showed what can be achieved. I was proud to be asked to help them with their fundraising events. They all appreciate the hard work and personal touch of the local doctors and wanted to help give something back to the surgery. At a time when the discussion is going on as to local surgeries or Poly Clinics I think this gives Herefordshire's answer in actions rather than words."
